Draft Picks:
Every team is awarded two draft picks - a first and second round pick. Each entry draft will be conducted based on the actual NHL entry draft of that given year. Any player NOT selected in a given NHL entry draft is considered to not exist. ManNHL: Lockout may introduce any undrafted players as possible free agents as long as a full season has elapsed since the conclusion of that player's given entry draft.
You have a 23 Man Roster Limit. If you are at this limit, you must drop a player in order to claim a player through the draft. If you are under this limit, you can freely add a player through the draft.
When drafting a player who went undrafted, you can only draft said player on the year of the draft previous to his first pro season (AHL, NHL, KHL or any other Professional European league).
Example:
Wayne Gretzky's first pro season is 2006-07 in the AHL. He can be drafted in the 2006 Entry Draft.
Simple. Easy. Done.
