PR vs. NHL 13 (Glitchy trash)

So I had an initial tirade about NHL '13 on Original ManNHL, based on the demo. I now have the game, and have played it enough to elaborate on it's flaws.

(Note, the gist of the original argument was EA releases the same game very year and clowns pay $60 for it - this tirade is more specific and completely different.)

Okay, so I am simming a goalie career in NHL 13. My goalie is rated 86, and plays for the Phoenix Coyotes.

Problem 1: I was drafted 4 seasons ago, auto-signed to a 3 year entry level contract...and am still under contract. I should still be on a 3 year, 2 way contract, OR I should have been offered (and signed) a new deal. Neither apparently happened.

Problem 2: I am inexplicably a backup to a rookie rated 72. I have better a overall, better save %, better GAA, and better win percentage.

Problem 3: I request a trade. In late February, I get traded. I am now on Nashville. After a few games as the highest rated goalie on the team, but playing backup for some reason, I inexplicably get sent down to the minors. But...

Problem 4: I need to clear waivers. Umm...so I guess I was on my second contract then - without having signed one. And I get claimed by....THE PHOENIX COYOTES. Trade deadline has passed. I cannot request ANOTHER trade from these clowns...The fuck...

Problem 5: I am in the minors. I was ranked 12th in the league in the Vezina Race, save percentage of 93%, GAA of under 2 and now I am in the minors.

Problem 6: All of my Season Expectation numbers (which were being surpassed with A+s in the NHL level) were reset when I went to the minors- but the expectations are the same. So I have about 21 games left in the season and I am expected to "Start 45 games", "Win 25" and "Earn 7 shutouts".

Problem 7: I finish the season, do not even kind of hit these INSANE expectations, and the team is mad at me since I have like, 6 wins, 11 starts, and 1 shutout - no where near the numbers they set. I get about 33 XP for my E and C- performances (I typically gathered about 700XP a season before that), and get reprimanded for "lack of effort this season".

Problem 8: So my value goes down, I am offered UFA contracts (what?) and when I sign with a new team (LA), I get reamed because I "didn't put any effort into last season". Excuse me? I was the 12th best goalie in the league with league-leading numbers before getting inexplicably sent to the minors. Dicks.

Needless to say this has basically ruined my Goalie career and has taken the fun of this experiment from about 88% to about 12%. I would encourage the fanboys of this game to come out and explain to me why these 8 BIG problems exist, and how it is okay to release a game with these incredibly obvious (and numerous) issues.

That is completely retarded. I really enjoyed be a pro the first time, but I got bored as shit with it. What I WANT back is the 04 manager's stuff where you build your office and shit as you get better.

for problem 1, only thing I can think of is if you were sent to juniors once. That pushes back the contract a year.

for problem 4, your agent could have signed you a deal? and you can only request a trade once a season, which is realistic.

for problem 5, when you are rated low, stats don't really matter (as good as they are)

problem 6, definitely a glitch, I would message ea sports on twitter, or facebook, or email them. Let them now so they can send out an update

problem 8, they probably just said they want you to have a better season, they gave you another chance (even though you had a good season, due to the #6, it reset and you had a bad "season"

I think that's the point he's trying to make is that even though those issues happened, he still had stats, was meeting goals, etc. and the fact that it did reset is the problem, and I agree. Would be like the Rangers sending down Lundqvist after having 50 wins in a season, then saying he had a terrible season because he was sent down.

you can request as many trades as you want, if rejected they demote you for being a jerk and then for some reason will promote you if you are in the minors at the time. Ignoring waivers the whole time (I wont trade you but I'll waive you for nothing, fucking retarded).

Hell my brother was playing this, started on Edmonton (no draft) and all players became UFA after the first season. These are glitches that should be noticed if you play the game once. Clearly EA doesn't care, just like the trading system, if there is no Green or Red players in a deal the computer can and likely will reject even the dumbest deals (I once, so pissed off by the set up, offered both Sedins for Etem... rejected, not enough going their way.... yeah fucking right)

Just no effort what-so-ever in making these games non-glitchy. I hate that I still love playing it. lol.

The problem with your Goalie sim is just that - simming. I recall in an older game (09?) that I was a 1st line FWD, but sometimes I didnt feel like playing, so I simmed. If I simmed more than 10-15 games at a time, I'd slowly be bumped down the lineup, and was even put on waivers (Got claimed by Toronto - still scarred by that) when i was closse to a 90 overall. I think the game mode is meant for us to play the games and not sim.

agreed, sad thing is 90 overall players don't get demoted or waived in Be A GM mode even if they go 20 games without a point so why do it in the Be A Pro? STUPID AS FUCK.

Also, since 45 of you are PMing me calling me a hypocrite since I said i would not be buying this game - I got this game for $5 from a friend. He got it with his PS3 and doesn't play hockey games. It's worth $5. Not $60
