Alright, so I went on TSN the other day, and noticed this article under the MLB that said Dustin McGowan has suffered another setback in preparing to return to the Jays lineup.
Not sure how many of you guys are BlueJays fans, but heres the background info on McGowan. He was drated by Toronto in the first round back in 2000, he went 1-3 back in 2005 during his first career season. The next season he went 1-2. In 2007, he became a starting pitcher for the Jays and went 12-10 and then in 2008 he went 6-7. Since then he has not played a full season.
He missed the 2009 season due to Tommy John surgery, an Injury that also made him miss all of 2010. In 2011, he played his first game in 3 seasons, playing in 5 games, going 0-2 and missed the rest of the season. At the end of that season, he was signed to another 2-year contract, only to miss all of 2012 again.
He was making progress slowly last season, but then injured himself as he was doing conditioning training, and never did make it into the lineup.
Last March he was signed to a 2-year 3M dollar contract extension.
John Gibbons told media on Wednesday that McGowan's shoulder was sore after playing catch, and may miss camp again this season.
My question is, should the BlueJays give up on this guy? Can he ever return to form to be the pitcher that was once drafted first overall? Are you annoying with hearing all these stories on McGowan and how the Jays keep giving him chances?

1. Just to clarify, McGowan was picked 33rd in the draft
2. No, who cares? Does it suck? sure. But he doesn't take a spot on the 40 man because he is always hurt. Would I care if the Jays released him? Not at all, but i'm not upset that they are staying loyal to him.

And, its strange how loyal they are to McGowan. Out of all Toronto sports, the Jays have been the most loyal to this guy. Its annoying how they wont give it a break and let him go.
