Anyone collect hockey cards? Either now, when they were younger, or...any time? If so, when did you collect, what did you collect, and what are some super cool cards in your collection?
I collected mainly complete sets, from the early-mid 90s. I have a LOT of complete sets from 91-92, and 92-93. Parkhurst, Upper Deck, O-Pee-CHee, etc.
Some of my favs (not including autographs) are: - Graded (8) Pavel Bure Upper Deck Rookie Card - Graded (8) John Vanbiesbrouck O-Pee-Chee Rookie Card - Cal Gardiner 1951-52 Parkhurst (I just love having a card this old)

In 1991, I think, there was a set of Russian prospect cards for their world junior team which featured Bure, Mogilny and others. I have that.
I also have a grass-encased rookie card of Eric Lindros from his CHL playing days. Steve Yzerman rookie card in mint. Pavel Bure rookie card, mint. That's kind of it for cool stuff that I can remember.
Also had these mini-cards, like one inch by one inch, but they are for wrestlers in the 80s like Dibiase and Hogan and such. Found them in my old house. We tore out a wall that ended up being an old closet that they closed up for some reason and they were in there.

My dad collected hockey cards for years before he passed away. His intentions were for my brother and I to sell the cards someday and hopefully make a bunch of money. Since then, I've been selling/trading the hockey cards to build my own collection of my favorite player. As of right now I've collected 24 different autographed cards, most have jersey pieces in them, of Jordan Eberle Cards: s1359.photobucket.com/albums/q792/BolgaJ1/Jordan%20Eberle%20PC/

Steve Yzerman rookie card in mint. Pavel Bure rookie card, mint. Professionally graded mints, or self-graded mints?

Well most of the bigger cards have been sold already, but from what I've seen he collected from the early 90's until 2009. I have a few sealed boxes from early 90's in the other section of my photo bucket.

Nifty. My dad said when he was a kid they would all buy hockey cards and toss them at walls and shit (guess it was how you "played cards" or something?). He and his cronies probably ruined quite a few incredibly valuable cards in their day...

Yzerman is professionally graded because it's glass encased, Bure not sure. But it's mint to me! I bet if I ate it it would also taste like mnt.

You know when something is professionally graded. It has their logo/name on it (PSA, PRO, etc), and gives it a number out of 10 (or some companies give it a letter I think). The case they then enclose it in is unopenable. When you lick them, they taste like mint.

I used to be into cards big time. I sold most of them, because I probably had close to a hundred thousand cards, and they just took up way too much room. I kept my favourites though. I have about 500 Olaf Kolzig cards, Rookies, Patches, Jersey's, auto's, 1/1's, and a ton of others. Book value would likely be about $3000-4000. In my safe, I have the best of the best though. I have 3 Gretzky rookies (1 mint, 1 near mint, 1 Topps in mint), also a Gordie Howe Rookie in excellent condition. Other notable rookies... Bobby Clarke, Darryl Sittler, Ken Dryden, Mario Lemieux X2, Mike Bossy X3, Bryan Trottier, Patrick Roy X2, Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull, Phil Esposito, Brad Park, Marcel Dionne, Guy Lafleur, Sidney Crosby (Upperdeck Young Gun), Alex Ovechkin (Upperdeck Young Gun), Ray Bourque X2, Mark Messier X3, Paul Coffey, Bobby Hull, Gil Perreault, Tony Esposito. I also have 3 gordie Howe Auto cards and a Wayne Gretzky Auto (All certified by Upperdeck) I also have every complete set of OPC from 1975 to 1990 in extreme mint condition. There's just one card I'd still like to get one day, and that's Bobby Orr's rookie.

That is very awesome. You should sell/trade me your least favourite Gretzky rookie.
