So I passed this idea by Leafs and he thought it was a good idea.
As the rule stands, you can only get goalies (just like players) by giving up a goalie/player of equal or greater value/overall. What I suggest is that we be able to pick up goalies with skaters that are one overall lower in rating.
Example: I want G Mike Hunt 81. I can now offer up a skater (forward/d-man) with one less overall; D- Mike Hawk 80.
So what do you guys think?

There would be absolutely no point in the free agency. You'll see guys transfer players they just got for a higher rated guy, so basically they would get a guy 2 OA higher. It makes no sense

As long as its FOR goalies only, I don;t see why it would matter. I would not be cool with, for example, swapping a 85 Goalie for an 86 player.
So yeah, FOR goalies ONLY.

There are no 81 or 85 rated players. If you trade in a player who is an 80 for an 81 goaltender, or a player who is an 84 for an 85 rated goaltender, the free agency pool actually improves because there are fewer higher rated skaters than there are goaltenders.
