We used to have this rule where you had 24 hours to draft when you were up for draft BUT once you signed on DURING that 24 hours, you had a set amount of time to make your pick. 1-3 hours, for example.
Given the rage involved with Ducks whole fucking around for 15 hours between his two picks, do people want to bring this rule back?
You have 24 hours to pick, BUT if you sign in while your team is on the clock, you have a set time?
In other words, if you are trying to trade your pick, you MUST do it before hand, and now when you are on the clock?
-------------- Example:
If we go with 1 hour: PR's Team is up to draft at 1am. He signs on at 5am. Instead of him having until 1am the next day to fuck around, he has to make his selection before 2AM or he is skipped.

I vote yes, and I think 2 hours is more than enough time.

Yeah that would be best. Gotta do something to speed it up. If trades are the reason for the delay, it's the GM's fault for not dealing the pick sooner. Besides, he could always trade the drafted player instead of the pick. Over a week to complete a draft is too long, something needs to be done.

Agreed, make it two hours, because that pick was up for negotiations for a while before that selection came. I was the one negotiating with him, but obviously a deal wasn't made and honestly the deal (to me) was there, but for him wasn't at the start of negotiations, it should have been made much, much sooner.

no. 24 Hours to pick is better. you can't switch the amount of time. Some people might need more time 24 hours is a set amount so it shouldn't be switched just because you came on. that's kinda stupid and not fair. It's like signing an agreement and switching the terms once it's signed

It's like signing an agreement and switching the terms once it's signed if everyone takes their 24 hours, the draft can take up to a month. Limits need to be brought in to avoid that type of silliness. The Greater Good.

I think this 2 hour thing is fair. The idea behind the 24-hour limit is that everybody should log on once within a 24-hour period. If I log on and see my pick is up, I need to make my pick so the next one comes up, not to wait around and try to shop my pick while it's up.
you're purposely stretching out the draft period, and whoever does it will likely comment 2 days later about how long the draft is taking and that they're losing interest.

We should just have a live draft

Considering we're already in the second round now, and negotiations are ongoing for extensions, it's not so bad. But next season I think we'll definitely do the live draft. Might be easiest to get people to like the facebook page for the simulation site, and then conduct the draft on there, or do the java chat again.
