The Capitals would first like to congratulate the Philadelphia Flyers on their Stanley Cup victory. We would also like to thank the city of Ottawa for their hospitality. We also say fuck you to the LA Kings.
The Washington Capitals are proud to select, from the U.S National Development Team, Jack Johnson

Just double checked and noticed that the coyotes were also out for the entire season. That said, they will NOT be folding. But they will likely be moving to a team that doesn't deserve to have their name removed.
So, Phoenix selects James Neal.

-Since we're using the format where players retire like they usually do in the real NHL, isn't this a waste of a draft pick? Or, will we just let him play til hes 36-40?

technically he plays 3 more years, before passing, if they have him pass here then its sorta a waste, but it could be more of a personal pick
