Oilers is mad at me because I would not trade him (surrogate) Islanders' 2nd best player for Oilers 14th best player.

His first argument was, "well, he won't be playing very high up in my line up, so I should not have to pay 1st line quality for this 1st line player."

His second argument was, "Who cares, Isles is folding anyways, you might as well give me their best player for my playoff run."

After two, "Dude, no. Offer better, or go away," his third argument was...

"Fuck you, fuck you fuck you fuck you"

None of this is completely accurate and none of those quotes are even remotely close to what I said. Oh, and point of note... PR was the only one saying "Fuck you, fuck you fuck you fuck you" at any point in our conversation. This is purely PR being a douche bag by revealing a private negotiation... So let's make it public.

As deadline offers go, being that we're not able to trade picks in surrogate deals and PR's decree that he wanted younger players, this wasn't a horrible offer, but as offer from a player production offer standpoint, I can see how it's a little bit bad. So, I countered with simply this:

F Mike Peca (30) (GP: 73 - G: 17 - A: 34 - P: 51)

TO:
LW Jan Hlavac (25) (GP: 72 - G:18 - A: 16 - P: 34)
RW Radek Dvorak (27) (GP:12 - A: 17 - P: 29)

PR's Parameters:
Production value adds up (Check)
Younger players (Check)

PR claims that they're both "4th line players", which neither are; Both were on my 2nd line right up until the trade deadline when I acquired Guerin since the trade wasn't processed until after the latest sims.

At which point I was told it was a "scam offer" and told to "fuck off". I didn't freak out about it. I just simply pointed out that his own parameters for a deal were met. Of course, that's always construed as me being a "whiny little bitch" cuz how dare I disagree with PR?! At this point he says "until you are willing to give up a top 5 now (yes, the price went up) you can leave me alone."

So you all be the judge now. I don't think I was completely out of line with this offer considering:

1) It's the trade deadline.
2) NYI is a GM-less team and in last place.
3) We cannot trade picks in surrogate trades because these teams are likely to be folded at the end of the season.

You tell me.

In fairness to Edmonton, he does have special needs. The second offer in that form was never sent my way, but I was offered his 14th best player and something else (less than that) for Peca.

And the silly bugger also fucked up my "parameters". I didn't say a producer, I said, "Someone with at least 40 points," since all of Edmonton's top 6 players have that.

Anyone else in this league thing a 30 point 3rd liner on Team A should be traded for a 51 point 1st liner on Team B?

It wasn't "sent" to you in THAT form, but that 2n offer was the exact offer I made to you because you chose to talk about it on MSN instead of saying "send me a PM". And I love how suddenly you're saying they're 3rd liners now and not 4th liners, yet somehow I have special needs?! Gimme a break.
