David Oliver was a solid Oiler and is an extremely nice guy. I sat near him and next to Kirk Maltby on a plane once in January of 1996 when we were heading back to Alberta for my grandfather's funeral. We had a refueling stop in Calgary. Next thing I know, my aunt's telling me to look out the window... and what do I see? All these hockey bags with the Oilers logo on the conveyor belt being loaded onto the plane. And I'm figuring "Ah, their bags are just being transported to Edmonton. The team must have a private flight." Nope. I look up a couple minutes later, and one of my idols at the time, Dougie Weight, steps through the curtain and takes the same seat I'm in but 3 rows ahead. Maltby sat next to me; Oliver was one row up and to my right, sitting up towards the front and across from Doug, a very young Ryan Smyth. The were just heading home from Dallas to end a road trip. Maltby and Oliver talked to me and joked around with me the whole flight up to Edmonton. At point, David suggested that I pass him the notepad I was using to do my homework on, so he could pass it around to the guys on the plane to sign. Not all of them did, but Kirk, David, Smytty and Weight all signed, but it was a really kool experience and super nice of David to suggest that. Total class act, that guy. Nice scoop.

You spelt cool with a K.... pretty sure he's not the jerkface I've SPELLED it like that for about 12 years now dude. And if you're actually going to "try" and correct my spelling and grammar, maybe you should spell things properly yourself so you'd atleast be taken, somewhat, seriously... lol
