Restrain from using contractions in essays. It is also a good idea to avoid plagiarism, unless you want to become the head of the English department at my old high school.

My English teacher, which happened to be the head of our English department, was teaching us about sourcing work items. She then went on to talk about plagiarism and how serious of a problem it is. She then explained to us that, while in university, she was running late with an essay and 'borrowed' some information to finish it on time. She told us how lucky she was to not get caught for plagiarizing haha.
I just thought it was funny that our English head had plagiarized.

lmao I never understood how anyone could plagiarize. I'd rather have my own idea on a page than not even know what the hell someone wrote about a paper.

Hey, if you've ever forgotten to do your homework as a kid and copied your friends', you've plagiarized as well. I get what you mean, though. Overall pretty stupid, especially when there are programs which teachers pass electronically-submitted essays through to check for plagiarism.

The only plagiarism I understand is accidental, such as unknowingly forgetting to source certain information. It happened to a friend of mine in Grade 10, but because the assignment was practicing sourcing information, he got to redo it.
In grade 10 I was writing my exam when a teacher came in asking my teacher what they should do with a student's assignment. The student copied someone else's work, and then (no lie) stapled it to his.

...yep.
But for real, popping back on topic here for a second, I really do enjoy helping with essays and such, so don't be afraid to ask for help and what not. I assume Mike is in the same boat. Don't be afraid or reluctant to ask. We no judge, yo.

Lmao I got lectured by my English teacher back in grade 9 because I had a sentence that resembled another guys. He then went on to deduct 20%, if I recall correctly.

That is pretty lame to do over a sentence, unless it was a crucial sentence like a thesis or something.
Oh, reminder to let us know when the due date is of said assignments.
